Inline Engineering

Shiploader high tension upper bend pulley change out

Inline Engineering were called to assess a pulley change out that was required in an area with limited overhead capacity for crane access, where the largest crane that could be padded out in the area was still not able to pick up the weight of the pulley. This is where we developed an alternate rigging plan to ensure we could get the correct lift with chain blocks and lower the pulley down to our engineered pulley skating frames and were able to get the pulley to a location where we could remove the pulley safely with a mobile franna crane.

This is all in a normal days work for our teams onsite as this is one of the activities we most regularly engage in. the pulley was placed in situ, we went to work with the dial gauges, aligning the pulley bearing housings to ensure the clamped outer raceways of the bearings are concentric to the shaft within a tolerance of 0.20mm in every plane. This is the part that ensures a full duty life for the bearings and enables cleaner, more accurate vibration analysis during routine checks to make sure and defects are picked up and rectified before they cost production downtime.
